The company is preparing new hardware that won't be compatible with older systems, mostly because there are no existing fabrication plants that produce the old Amiga chipsets. Ownership of the Amiga name and technology has ping-ponged around the world and back, and at one point it was in the hands of PC maker Gateway before finally ending up in the hands of Amiga Inc. Commodore, the original developer of the Amiga hardware, sank in 1993.
